A four minute video loop using low resolution photography and high contrast imagery to highlight aspects of the urban scene across Queen Street West on the TTC streetcar in Toronto, Canada. The video is displayed in an unconventional portrait layout on a small screen made from an old laptop folded inside out, mounted onto a wall. Via headphones one can hear the sounds of people talking on the streetcar, the ambience of traffic and the street. Themes of night, dark, lights, reflections and the street are visually abstracted as images moving across the screen and also, moving in time. Night Lights Video Installation 2009 |
